Ocean currents are dangerous at any time of the tide. You cannot swim against these currents.
Wear a life jacket when playing near the water's edge. Children are especially susceptible to sneaky waves and being swept out in the ocean unexpectedly.
The coast is notorious for its "sneaky waves" and you will not see them coming. Watch the water, your children and your pets and never turn your back on the ocean.
Avoid digging caves in the dunes, tunnels and caves will collapse and bury you with no notice.
Tides and waves are unpredictable, you may be able to get on rocks and jetty at low tide but will quickly be trapped at high tide.
No Fires allowed within 100ft of the flammable dunes grass. Pack out and bring your garbage to keep our beaches clean.
Stay away from wildlife in any capacity.
Ocean rescue is extremely dangerous and should be done by professionals. You will likely become a victim needing rescue, at the expense of the original individual needing the rescue team's attention. As difficult as it may be, the best way you can help is to immediately call 911 in case of an emergency and letting us do what we do best.
